Still Corners is a UK-based musical duo consisting of producer Greg Hughes and singer Tessa Murray. In 2011 they signed to Sub Pop records and have since released two albums: Creatures of an Hour and Strange Pleasures. Strange Pleasures came out on May 6th with one of my favorite songs, Berlin Lovers. This song has an oneiric quality about it, listening to it I feel like I’ve been cast away in a dream. The music video only serves to reinforce this. It’s like a 1980s disco fairytale; innocent youth falling in love on a roller rink. I can’t speak for all teenage girls, but finding true love while rollerskating is surely MY dream come true.

Ben Thomas of L’Étranger has had quite an exciting year: he recorded an album with Spectrals as lead guitarist, he founded his own record label, Thomorrow, and on top of all of that he released his first EP of the label. His EP, Don’t Ever Change [TMRW01], consists of the songs Now Or Never, Got To Know, Please, and Ask. His French moniker, L’Étranger, translates to ‘The Stranger’, but he’s certainly no stranger to the French House music scene. With tropical riffs and groovy beats, these tracks are sun-soaked, washed out, and danceably deep. Dive in!
